HEPCA works to develop a management plan for Shaab El Erg and Fanous

HEPCA would like to thank the concerned community for reporting violations that occur on a daily basis in dolphin resting areas. over the past few years, HEPCA has launched many campaigns including but not limited to the code of conduct of visiting dolphin sites. Instructions was directed to both operators & visitors, but unfortunately there is a determination from most of the operators to commit all violations that we have referred to many times. At the moment HEPCA, the Red Sea Protectorates & the Red Sea Governorate are working to develop integrated management plan for Shaab El Erg and Fanous. This Management plan essentially serves as a tool to protect the dolphin population and to help people to better understand the economic value and biological importance of preserving these valuable natural resources and reducing the harmful human impact as well as protecting visitors from exposure to injuries that may result from the malpractices that are occurring now.The most important feature of the proposed plan is the limitation of the number of daily visitors to match the carrying capacity of each site. There will be no tangible success to any efforts unless the service providers realize that our natural resources is the only guarantee for there business continuation, and of course daily patrolling. We are calling all the service providers to respect the regulations, and to keep reporting the violations and we will make sure that legal actions are taken against the violators.
