HEPCA Celebrates Earth Day with Mega clean-ups allover the Red Sea

We are excited to celebrate this year’s Earth Day with MEGA clean-up events all over the Red Sea in land and underwater starting from Hurghada to Marsa Alam as part of the No Plastic awareness campaign and to welcome spring in a clean and a healthy environment.

The First event was MEGA clean-up for Magawish island in collaboration with our partners in this initiative; The Red Governorate and Red Sea Hotels where we managed to collect huge amount of Plastic debris from the beach with the help of 130 volunteers.

We would like to thank all participants in this event; Jaz Hotels, Siva Grand Resort, Marriott Resort, Sinbad Hotel, Sentido Palm Royale Soma Bay, Hurghada Vocational School, and our social media followers who joined this initiative.

The Second Event was The MEGA underwater clean-up day in collaboration with PADI Middle East & Africa, The CDWS, Aqualung, Project Aware and Ministry of Tourism where PADI Diving centers collaborated with an underwater clean-up with their guests.

We would like to thank all the diving centers who participated in this event like Dive Point Red Sea, Panorama, Ilios, Blue Water, James & Mac, Egypt International, Scuba World, Colona, Tauchen Unter, Euro-Divers, Voodoo Divers and Pro Dive Academy. Also a special thanks to PADI Ambassadiver Luca for his participation.

In Safaga, in response to HEPCA's initiative on Earth Day clean up, Mena Ville and Ducks Safaga diving centers participated with a clean-up in Tobia Island land and underwater.

In Marsa Alam as well HEPCA's Solid Waste team conducted a cleanup campaign for public beaches in the city.
