G.I.S. El Gouna International School Attends F.E.E.L

On May 28, HEPCA took the students of El Gouna International School (G.I.S. ) for an overnight trip to the remoteness of Marsa Alam. Our F.E.E.L program served to inspire the students to have a new appreciating for the environment and a better understanding of why it must be protected. The program commenced with a presentation about becoming a scientist and the exciting work they can be a part of in the Red Sea. 4 module activities and science experiments were carried out in the first day around the subjects of pollution, biology, chemistry and finally a small briefing about recycling and how to reuse waste. This was then followed with a discussion session around the campfire about HEPCA and our conservation projects. The following day, the students had a snorkeling session with a small introduction about corals and coral fish. The session was divided into groups and while others were in the water, the rest were playing games and activities on land. The students then got to observe what algal cells looked like under a microscope, as-well as some sand particles. Right after lunch was a contest between 2 groups of students asking them questions on what they'd learned during the F.E.E.L. excursion. The students then packed there things for the trip back to Hurghada, with memories that will last them a life-time. If you’re interested in participating in our F.E.E.L. program, please contact shantel@hepca.org طلبة مدرسة الجونة يشاركون فى برنامج اعداد القادة البيئيين شارك مجموعة من طلاب مدرسة الجونة فى برنامج اعداد القادة البيئيين و الذى تنظمه الجمعية ، ففى يوم 28 مايو شارك معنا 23 طالب و طالبة من المدرسة فى رحلة الى مدينة مرسى علم جنوب البحر الاحمر ، يهدف هذا البرنامج الى رفع الوعى البيئى لطلبة المدارس تجاه بيئتهم و ما تواجهه من تحديات و اهمية الحفاظ عليها. تخلل البرنامج العديد من المحاضرات و الانشطة من تجارب علمية ، معلومات عن التلوث ، علم الاحياء و الكيمياء و اهمية اعادة التدوير للمخلفات الصلبة . كما ناقشنا معهم مشروعات الجمعية للحفاظ على البيئة ، و فى اليوم التالى استمتعوا بممارسة السنوركل و تعرفوا على الشعاب المرجانية و انواع الاسماك التى تعيش فى هذه الشعاب. استخدم الجميع الميكروسكوب للتعرف على الطحالب و جسيمات الرمال ، و بعد الغذاء مباشرة بدأت مسابقة الاسئلة و الاجوبة بين فريقين شملت ما عرفوه و تعلموه خلال البرنامج عاد الجميع الى الغردقة بعد ما خاضوا تجربة مثيرة نتمنى ان تظل محفورة فى ذاكرتهم . فى حالة الرغبة فى المشاركة ببرنامج قادة المستقبل للحفاظ على البيئة برجاء مراسلتنا على
